In my opinion this story has a appeal theme to work in class because it deals with racial segregation. Thebedi and Paulus` relationship is considered illegal in apartheid South Africa where blacks cannot have contact with whites. Consequently, they skin from society. Thebedi comes to Paulus house at dawn because in that location is a risk that the servants who know her would discover her presence in the house which is banned.
